Mary Ann Dalby was born abt January 1, 1840. She is my great great grandmother. Her siblings in the family were Elizabeth born April 29, 1833 and married to Benjamin Oscar Stewart, George born Feb 13 1835, Matthew born Feb 5 1837.
I think the children were all born in Welland County, Ontario, Canada.
Mary Ann Dalby married John Henry Smithers and lived for many years in Michigan. I find them first in Lapeer County, Michigan in the 1870 and 1880 Census and later in Schoolcraft County, Michigan. In the census Mary states that her father was born in Canada and her mother was born in Scotland.
