Dear Beatrice,
Thanks for your message.I don't think I can help you at the moment because all my own information relates to Dalby as a surname and not as a second Christian name.
All the same, I am intrigued because, although I can't locate Killermine, I see that Ballinasloe is a market town on the borders of Counties Roscommon and Galway - and my own Dalbys came from Co Roscommon (parishes of Kiltullagh and Kilkeevan;modern towns of Ballinlough and Castlerea). There could well be a link somewhere - but where? There are two different accounts of the origin of my own family, but neither refers to Huguenots and my own family was RC.
I wonder if you would like to contact me direct, and we might be able to explore things further. My e-mail address is [email protected]
All good wishes,
Mark
