In a book on Catholic saints, I found this entry on Robert Dalby. "Robert Dalby, Blessed (d.1589) English martyr. Born at Hemingborough, Yorkshire, he was a Protestant
minister before he converted to Catholicism and left England to become a priest. Ordained in 1588 after studies at Douai and Reims, France, he returned home. The next year he was arrested and hanged, drawn and quartered at York on March 16 with Blessed John Amias."
Has anyone gone back that far? I am part of the Dalby line that Betty Lou Jones has researched.
geneologically yours :-),
