I do not know if you know this story, but it was told to me by my mother-in-law, Richards wife and to my husband John their son. John b. 1885 born had 45 children, 15 of the childern he and with his mistress Margaret Marvin and the rest of the childern were with two previous wives most of the childern wer given up for adoption of left at an orphanage. I always thought the Margaret last name was Garvin and so did my mother-in-law.
Richard was taken in by the Bertwells town of Wilmington MA. And in the 1930 census so was Doris.
My husband is one of fifteen childern all by Richard who died at age 1982. This is a very hard family to search. Hope we can help each other.
