Hello alice day

Catherine Dalgarno is my great great grandmother. She and her twin sister were born in July 1840 to George Dalgarno and Margaret Cumming(d of b 13/7/1811)who were married on 12th June 1830.I did not realise that there was such a difference in their ages(30 odd years) until I saw the 1841 census.I have not had the time or money to investigate him further but I know a bit about Margaret.
She was the daughter(illegit)of Robert Cumming and Margaret Stephen about whom I know nothing.Robert was born in Longside son of Alex Cumming and Elizabeth Skinner.Elizabeth was one of the daughters of The Rev John Skinner and Grizel Hunter.Skinner was a well known Episcopal clergyman and minor poet of some note whose son becamee Bishop of Aberdeen. He was well known to Rober Burns and although they did not meet, they corresponded. and Burns met his son John in Aberdeen in the 1780s.
