Norman and Jane (Irvine) Dalgarno Relatives and Info

I am trying to find some family history. My grandfather just passed away and I am trying to put together a memorial and include some history. His name was Edwin Dalgarno Sr. His maternal grandparents were John Irvine (11-10-1856, New Deer) and Barbara (Clark) Irvine (1858, Monquhitter). His pateral grandparents were Alexander Dalgarno (1814, Longside) and Jane (Davidson) Dalgarno (1837, Longside). Alexander's father was George Dalgarno (9-29-1786). My grandpa's parents were Norman and Jane (Irvine) Dalgarno. Norman's family moved from Scotland in 1904 and finally homesteaded in Harlowton, MT USA in 1908. I would like to find out the family crest, tartan, clan, motto, and any other history I could find. Someone said that the Dalgarno family is Lowland (Dumfriesshire) in origin, but that our family would be entitled to the Irvine information. Is this true? Could you point me in a direction to start looking? Thank you.
Kind Regards,
Shelia Dalgarno Schenk
