It's new year, and I'm getting more frustrated than all the millions of people trying to access the PRO 1901 Census. But, like them, I've had no success with my searches.
I'm trying to trace details of my:
Gr.Uncle William Brown,
Gr.Aunt Joan Dalgleish Brown,
Gr.Uncle James Dalgleish Brown,
parents Robert Brown and Joan Dalgleish, married 1860, at
Neilston, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland.
Gr.Uncle William was Born 1864 in Tradeston, Glasgow.
Gr.Aunt Joan was Born 1867 in Rutherglen.
Gr.Uncle James was Born 1872 in Rutherglen.
Joan and James are both the 1881 census, living in
Dalmarnock Road, Rutherglen with their parents.
No trace of William..??..I don't know what happened to him, I presume he must have died...??
Their mother, Joan Dalgleish, died 1890, and I think the family must have split up.
I found their father Robert in the 1891 census, living in
Bernard Street, Bridgeton, Glasgow, with his new family.
Robert and his new wife, Agnes Templeton, are my
Great Granparents...I have only recently found out about his
previous family...Heard it at a funeral no less....
Joan is in the 1891 census, living in Main Street, Rutherglen, as a Boarder, no trace of James.
What happened to her after 1891...????
What happened to James after the family split up...????
Family stories say that James got married and had two
daughters, one named Bella, probably Isabella, who then
married a man named Thomson, don't know if that's the correct spelling, and they lived in Polmadie Road, Glasgow.
Sadly there are no family stories about William, or Joan.
Can anyone help me...???...Give me a few tips...???
Have a great 2002.
