My family originates from that area. I have about a dozen ancestors that I know about with various name spellings Dalling/Dallin/Dallyn/Dallen all from Berrynarbor, Devonshire, England or Ilfracombe, Devon, England, dating back to the 1500s.

Other relative surnames (about 175 names) of the Devon area, dating back to 900 AD, include, Adams, Bale, Ballou, Belson, Blackmore, Bohun, Bragg, Bragge, Brixton, Bunker, Courtenay, Courtney, Curcy, Decourtenay, Dereviers, Despencer, Downe, Dyer, Ealdorman, Farechilde, Gaylord, Hill, Hodge, Juel, Mortimer, Onyon, Owens, Page, Perrin, Perry, Peryn, Pugsley, Reede, Reviers, Richard, Roberts, Rogers, Rook, Scampe, Saint John, Thomas, Vere, Walter, Zouche, Elfrida (Elfhryth) Queen of England.
