Hi,
My name is Alice Damian and I was born in 1951 in Ploiesti, Romania. My father's name was Gheorghe Damian, he was born in 1912 in Barlad, Romania. My paternal grandfather's name was Pavel Damian, born in 1880, also in Romania (Moldova-eastern part of Romania). The "Damian" surname is very popular in Romania. Just by looking into a phonebook you can find tens of "Damians". I guess it is a name of Latin origin as it is also popular in other Latin countries (Italy,Mexico). If I can be of any help with information about my extended family I would be glad to do so. I am also interested in finding out more about my last name which, I confess, I like so much. It is a beautiful name. I presently live in Anaheim, California as I emigrated in 1991. Hope to hear from other "Damians" as well. All my best wishes.
