Samuel Damron;<1> Samuel Damron married his third wife, Elizabeth Jennings, in Weakley Co., TN, in 1872. Both census records and family recollections show that she was the mother of Henry and Sarah Butler by a previous marriage. In the 1940s Hazel and Walter Damons were contacted by a Mr. Harrington who said that his Aunt Betty (his father's sister) had married Samuel Damron. It would appear that Elizabeth Harrington had fisrt married Mr. Butler, then Mr. Jennings, and, finally, Samuel Damron. Elizabeth died in Obion Co. after 1900 and was buried at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Obion Co. The descedants of Samuel and Elizabeth all spell the name DAMONS rather than Damron.
Although no record has been found of the date of death of Samuel Damron, a Weakley Co. deed dated 7 July 1886 Elizabeth Damron reported the widow of Samuel Damron, deceased. He is said to have been buried at Old Salem Cemetery in Weakley Co. though no marker has been found.Dameron-Damron Family Newsletter, vol 14 page 137 was Farmer. He was born in 1809 at Kentucky.
