Our Danihy family from Castlegregory had this spelling as yearly as 1830.
Church records in Ireland & Auburn, NY used DANIHY, Census used DONAHEE & some property deeds used DENEHY.
After 1909, the family in Auburn, Cayuga Co, NY switched to DANAHEY.
Other spellings that we found for the family over the years were:
Doneghue, Donahue, Danahy, Danehy, Donahee, & Danihey

my husband Dennis
gggrandparents- Timothy Danahey & Mary Mansell/Mansfield
ggrandparents- Edward Danahey & Bridget Walsh
grandparents - John McCarthy & Catherine Danahey
parents - John McCarthy & Marie Doty
