Just wanted to comment on previous posting stating reading of Hixon may have been in error.
I am researching my Hixon family and know that in 1642 Frank Hixon, upon traveling to the Americas dropped the 'S" from his original "hixson" name in order for wife and children to easier find him on a later voyage . Thereby making Hixon a ligitamate name relating all of that spelling.
