Found on a single census, 1920 Indiana, Lake County, East Chicago ED 54, image 18 house 110, family # 191. The address was 3503 Block Avenue. Father Peter listed as arriving 1906. Ellis Island records say he was 26 on arrival from Szaros, Romania. He worked in one of the harbor steel mills. His wife, known by family as Joanna was recorded on the census as Mary, age 35, but I can not make out the year of her arrival. Listed children Victoria, Peter, Mary, John and Anna prove this is the family I am looking for.
Nothing found on the 1910 or 1930 censuses.
Spelling of name varied by each record produced. On the 1920, it was DANCHO, Ellis Island has DANCIO and DANCIU. Other places it has been DANKO, DANCKO, DANCO. The family long since settled on DANCIU.
Still need any trace of the family from arrival 1906 through 1930 census.
