Hi,

My name is Paul "Pete" Watt from St. Joseph, MI.
When I was a kid (around the 1940's) my uncle (Dave Karsten) and I used to play almost on a daily basis with Phil D'Anrea. Phil was about the same age - maybe a ouple of years older. I am now 69.
The lived in a beautiful brick home on the St. Joseph River.
Still here. I remember the marble staircase and the cabinet that moved and the tunnel that went down to the river. They had a couple German Shepards on the grounds that would givie us a boring look as we climbed over the short brick fence. However, would challenge any adults that would come too close.
I remember several occasions when his mom and dad (Phil) would come home and bring differnet stuff form Florida and Chicago. One time they brought back some cumquats. We about went crazy. We had never seen these little things like oranges.
More to the point, I have often thought of Phil and attempted to locate him a few years ago (in Florida) but did anything since - until now. Hopefully, he is still alive. I would like to contact him sometime and see if he recalls his living in St. Joseph.
My granfather (raised me) used tohave a resturant in St. Joseph. He used to tell us how Al Capone would come into the resturant when he was in town. He spent alotof time in our area, apparently when things got sticky in Chicago.
These were fond memories for me and any informtion you might have with regard to young Phil I would appreciate it.
Also, am I to assume that you are his son?

Thanks,

Paul Watt
