Here is what I have from nine sources. You may ask me for the references if you want them.
On March 18, 1719, William Dandridge (1689-1747) married Unity West, daughter of Nathaniel and Martha Woodward Macon West. A marriage settlement of 1247 acres in St. John's Parish was made. It was here on the East side of the Pamunkey Riber that William built his home "Elsing Green" which is today one of three remaining U-shaped houses in the area. Also still standing is a small house which was built in 1690 and in which William and Unity lived while the main house was being built. William's younger brother, John, father of Martha Dandridge Custis Washington, lived across the river from Elsing Green.
On September 28, 1728, William received a grant of 487 acres on Allen's Creek in Hanover Co., adjoining his King William Co. lands and thos of his father-in-law, Nathaniel West.
