Hello Celia, I am only guessing at connections reguarding Danforth and the Anforths , as all evidence is circumstantial. However my guess is there is a connection between D ANFORTH , and ANFORTH, and DANFORTH, De HONDFORDE etc. Spellings vary, which complicates things a lot. I cant say anything for sure but I think this family moved backwards and forwards between the european continent and England after 1066 if not before. I am a deep thinking person and I think the name D ANFORTH may be a french version of De Hondforde. Possibly because a family member returned to france sometime in History. I could be wrong. I dont think so. There is a town called Handforth in Cheshire England , This means in old english , on the ford, meaning on the river. De Hondforde has the same meaning. In my mind De Hondforde, Handforth, Handford, Danforth, D Anforth, and other spellings of this are very close blood relatives. Dear Celia, If I find anything new about your family tree I will let you know. Facts are hard to come by . We do however have an ANFORTH family tree if you want it. Best wishes and any Info about our family or the past is greatly appreciated. Colin Anforth McCOLL
