My mother, Clara Daniell Williams, had done research on
the Daniell Family back to England around the 1580's -
1590's - and 1600's and at that time the name was spelled
Danyell (some entries were spelled Daniell). Around
Jan., 1684 was when she found that the name mostly was
spelled with Daniell. The information was that the family
dropped the "y" and replaced it with "i".

Evelyn A. Rainwater, daughter of Clara Daniell Williams
