Mr. Vargo,

I have no idea where the different branches settled, or if they settled in one location first, and then moved. I would say, just purely as an educated deduction, that if they lived in a blatantly Welsh speaking place like Llenddewi Brefi, they moved there quite early on after the Norman conquest. This is based on my understanding that the Welsh at that time probably were not too thrilled about English "outlanders" (and many still aren't). Also, I would also deduce that English speakers would, if they moved to Wales, move to an area where English is more widely spoken. On the other hand, they could have come from England and gotten integrated into the Welsh society over the years anyway. If they moved there from Normandy directly, this would have had to be the case, and the fact that they were conquering Normans probably negated any ill feelings on the part of the locals.
