There were DANIELL family members in the 1820 Settlers to South Africa. William Henry DANIELL died in 1898, he was in Kaffraria ( around Kingwilliamstown region) in 1860.

A George William DANIELL died in 1900, in the Cape Province.
Richard DANIELL requested remission of postal fines in 1830
James DANIELL applied for a loan in 1827
Lieutenant Col DANIELL was paid in 1827 and 1828 according to memorials all held in the South African archives. There is a basic index that can be searched on the net (NAAIRS) however I know little more than that.

I am researching Cyrus DANIELL as he married Maria Cecilia HEATH in Northfleet, Kent in 1842. Maria Cecilia was born about 1820 in South Africa. (near the Cowie, in the area of Port Alfred nowadays)
