Thank you for such a prompt reply - yes, we must exchange material.
I must say I hadn't been that interested in the up-line of Thomas Daniell as my interest really only comes in on the family at the time of his marriage to Elizabeth. But my fellow researcher whose wife is a descendant of Ralph Allen Daniell and his wife Sarah (Mawhood) - this RAD was one of the 16/18 children of the first RAD! - is the one who has been hot on this trail - but as yet hasn't been able to verify one way or another - and of course, I've been drawn into all this!
Would you like me to put you in touch with him? I would obviously need your agreement, and I would also need to seek his - he is away for the Christmas I believe.
My Daniell 'tree' is so large, I have had to put it onto wall-paper - so I don't have it in an e.mail form at present - but hope to do something more practical soon.
Do you live in England? Could I mail you pieces? Have you seen the Cornish Magazine 'One and All' that ran a feature on the family, but sadly ceased being printed and the last of the series was never printed.
I was in e.mail correspondence with a Adam Welsh in New Zealand, who promised me various bits and pieces but I never received them, and have not been able to make contact with him since. He did say he had inherited RAD's house in NZ - this RAD being a son of Edward and Juliana Penneck Lawrance. Apart from this he didn't ever verify or offer anything else. Presumably he is a descendant somewhere along the lines - maybe he has since died? I did send him the following which I had come across -
I have Edward and Ada Groves and fact they had a son Percy Edward (m. Mary McDonnell) who had Percy Dennis who married Elizabeth G Fitzgerald, who in turn had Megan Ruth who married a Bruce Mansell in 1961. I feel they must still be alive, but haven't been able to trace them. Sadly I don't have many dates, or much else about Edward and Juliana's family, apart from another son, Lawrance, bap. 4/9/1835 Falmouth, England, and married NZ? Isabella?
Also Julia, born 1842 NZ and married NZ? Major Deane and possibly had three daughters.
Also Ralph Allen born 1845 NZ, married NZ Mary Imlay, had daughter Isabelle.
I will e.mail again in the New Year with more details of what I have - in a more readable fashion!
All good wishes for Christmas - and it is good to have made contact - I wonder - which line of descent are you connected to - out of the 16/18?????
Do let me have your e.mail address.
Regards Gill Huggins
