Father of Gov Robert Daniell of SC

I cannot understand why there is no record of the Father of Robert Daniell. He was a very important person in the colonies, and married to Royalty, Dorothy Chamberlain, which would suggest he was also of Royal descent. In that time, everyone knew their lineage. And a person had to provide proof of their Royal lineage to marry another Royal.
So, HOW can it be that we don't even know his Dad's name? Much less his lineage. Information I've received from various sources, say that he was born in Llewellyn, Wales. And suggest he is the some of Roger. I see a lot of people do not believe this is true. So, what is the alternative? And to those who care about the spelling, double "LL"s is a Welsh trait. So, that represents a strong clue that he was indeed born in least to me. I'd like to hear alternative birth sites, and parents names. I've been stuck at this point for about 15 years.
How can such an important man, NOT have a registered genealogy? Donna Drury
