Hi, Most of my information on Gov Robert Daniell is in storage back in Alabama, I live in NV now, so I can't readily look it up. Most of my information came from Resource books at the library. "South Carolina Abstracts", LOTS of info in it! Robert was a Landgrave before becoming Gov. He and his family are listed quite a lot in it. Check the index! Also, another book called, "500 Immigrants Royal Descent". Gov Daniell was married to Martha Wainwright AND Dorothy Chamberlain, who was of Royal descent. There was a son, Marmaduke, who was the Captain of the the "Daniel", and became a Privateer for the Crown. I went to the library Genealogy section, and check every book on South Carolina. Just the indexes to see if any Daniells were listed, and got tons of info that way!
Robert had 2 brothers, John and Wilbert, together the 3 were involved in "Bacon's Rebellion" and escaped prosecution by fleeing to Barbados. Robert returned on the ship "Mary" with his child and maid. Apparently Martha was dead by then. Wilbert went on to Antegua on "John's Adventure" for a while and later returned to the New World. John Daniell stayed in Barbados for years, married, had sons, and owned a plantation there! Then, years later returned to the New World too.
Gov Daniell apparently was not held in high regard by the people of South Carolina. There were many conflicts with the Indians in which he had a hand. The Yesseme Indian War being one of the bigger ones.
This is off the top of my head, he was such a colorful character! I've haven't been able to find his parents though. No one seems to agree on that! Everyone seems to believe that he came over from llewelyn, Wales with a relative, Miles Carey, but beyond that...it seems to be a mystery. I will dig out what info I brought with me, and see if I have the specific details you require. Hope this gives you some leads in the meantime. Donna
