Looking for Pennsylvania DANIEL family

I am hoping you might be able to help me out.

Does anybody know of Jonas DANIEL and his wife Margaretta Dewas/Davis? He was born Easton, Northampton Co, PA, ca 1800. He lived in Northumberland Co. by the 1820 census.

Margaretta died at her daughter's birth (Dec 1820); Jacob the year following (1821). Margaretta the daughter, later known as Rebecca, ran away from her guardians, whom she characterized as "mean."

Margaretta/Rebecca DANIEL (b. 1 Dec 1820), d 22 Aug 1856, 35 yr, 4 m, 9 d), married my ancestor Jonas SCHELL ca. 1844. Since *she* then died when my ancestor Benjamin, her youngest son, was born, I have no oral tradition to give me any leads! All we have is her taufschein, with the bare facts on it of her name, date, and parents' names.

The family moved to Northumberland Co, Specificallly Turbotville. WHO is Jonas Daniel?

I would love to find our mysterious DANIEL and DEWAS ancestry!

Thank you for ANY help/suggestions you may offer,

== Marjorie Wilser

My uncle wrote: "The Daniel family came from near Philadelphia from a place called Easton. They lived near the Warrior Run Church. The 1820 census does list a Jonas Daniel in Northumberland Co. as a head of household.

A number of Daniel graves are at an old Lutheran Reformed church near Red Cross, PA -- 10 miles below Sunbury. The name of the Church out in the country is St. Peter's, a large brick building built in 1859 & is still being used.
