Hi Lee

It is quite possible there is a link between our two families. The origin of my wife's Daniell (Danyell link) was Thomas Danyell who lived from about 1420 to 1485. He was a clever, charismatic rogue who caused havoc in East Anglia during the reign of Henry 6. He claimed descent from the Cheshire Danyells and used their arms. His family appears in the Suffolk visitations (with many mistakes). He was married to the sister of the first Howard Duke of Norfolk. An expert on royal descents say he left no descendants, but I have checked with this expert and found his evidence for this believe very slight. There are very good reasons to believe he and his wife had at least one son Edmund. This Edmund and his children were trusted and treated well by the Howard family. Edemund had five sons - Edmund John Thomas ()born 1488) and George and Edward. Your first Edward was born about 1530 he would need to be a son of one of these five. This is possible as these Daniells had appointments in counties near to East Anglia.

regards
Graham Pratten
