Janice, that's wonderful. I have suspected that Hannah Martha Daniell, wife of N. C. Daniell, was a Sheppard but just couldn't prove it. What proof do you have? About all I know for certain is she was born in 1782 or 1783 in NC and that they had one child - George Franklin Daniell (my 4th gr-grandfather) who was born in 1802 in Georgia, indicating that Hannah and N. C. married possibly in 1801 in Georgia. I don't know anything about N. C.'s parents, etc. I know when, where, and why he died, but that's about it. Do you know anything about them before they moved to Texas?
I also suspected that they had a son named John Sheppard/Shepherd Daniell who was born in Georgia as well. A public tree reported his birthdate as 2 Jul 1804, but I have been unable to verify that. What proof do you have that he was her son? I have a lot of info on John except when and where he died (appears between 1860 & 1870 in Bradley County, Arkansas). I also knew that he was a witness to John Sheppard's will on 17 Jan 1842 in Monroe County, MS but have not seen the Will. Do you happen to have a copy or a complete transcription. I would love to see one if you do.
I would love to share what I know with you in detail. You can reach me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for sharing.
