It is entirely possible that they were brothers. It is hard to say for sure though since, although Danks is an uncommon name generally, it appears to be very common in the Birmingham area. Having said that, all Danks in the Birmingham area do appear to be, ultimately, related. I have stalled in my Danks research at Joseph as I have no information about his parents, only his approximate year of birth and where. Joseph worked his entire life as a wire weaver - what did William do as a profession?
