Hi. I'm from MI, USA and have Dan/Dann's originally from Sussex area...no one else seems be so maybe you are my long-lost hope here! If you go to the other Dan & Dann messages in GenForum you will pretty much see about my Dann's. My gg. grandfather was Joseph Dann. We THINK his father was either John or Joseph Dann, joseph being the most logical,...no reasonable proof of that yet, though! We believe him to be born around 1800. Could he be a brother to your John Dann??? He died in 1856, probably in Liverpool area. The family came to USA that same year. He and Susan/Susannah MILES were Married at East Grinstead [Sussex?] 1828. My g. grandfather was their youngest son, Alfred, b. 1841 in Liverpool. Their first children were born Sussex, the last in Liverpool. INTERESTINGLY, Alfred's sister, Ann Dann Holman, had a dtr. named Amy Beryl Dann! Is your name a family name?
