Mary--I don't know anything about Joseph's children except what I had in the posting you responded to. Albert was b. in OH but I don't know where, would suspect the Cincinnati area. I haven't had time to dig farther into censuses in Cincinnati to see how long the family lived there.
Where was your Albert Dann born? And where was he a teacher/supt? OH or MI?
Note that Albert the eldest was b. OH, the 2nd child in MI, and the last in KY--I think it is likely this last son, Charles, was born just across the river from Cincinnati in KY. Then the family was still in OH in 1870. I have no idea why the family went to MI at all...maybe there were other Dann's or Minchin's there??? Who knows!
Thanks for the reply, tho. Let me know if you think any of my stuff fits into yours. Have you checked the 1900 census to see where your Albert was born?
