When I was looking for information about my relation Naomi Russell, I was sent this.
"The Amos JENNER AKEHURST above is not the one that married Naomi RUSSELL!
From here we look at the Burwash 1861 census that may give us further information. He is aged 50. She 24.
Poor Naomi. She is given as buried on 10.03.1863 aged 25. What did Amos do? He went and married Sally DANN on 28.05.1864. Her age given as 23. Both were still together on the 1891 census. He 80. She 50."
However my Naomi Russell (b 1828 in Etchingham) is a different one. She had a sister Sarah (b 1822 Etchingham), who married Ebenezer Caleb Crouch, 20/10/1846 in Ticehurst. Sarah and Ebenezer became Mormons and emigrated to Utah.
