Thought the following would interest you. I am Robert Dann, and was named after the man killed at the Somme in the First World War. My father, Alfred, was one of the three sons of Bert and Kate Dann, who owned the Blacksmiths Forge in Hailsham during the 1920s early 30s. Bertís father was William Dann who owned the Butchers Shop in Ripe. My grandfatherís brothers (apart from Robert, killed at the Somme), were Harry, George, Edward, Horace, Fred, Frank and William. I also believe there was three daughters. William, my great Grandfather is buried surrounded by his three wives in the churchyard at Ripe.
