Amos's father was either Thomas or William. He was part of a family of shoemakers and is shown thruout the montreal directory as a bootcloser. There r at least 2 or 3 more generations of these Dann's represented in the directory, but without any more info, i cannot connect them. The 1881 canada census shows Annie with her children including an eldest daughter Mary Ann b. 1863. Since all these Dann's disappear from Montreal after the 1883/84 directory, i can only extrapolate that Annie dies and the family moves on. Perhaps she was the glue. My relative, Thomas, b. 1845 moves his family to Ontario. In 1901 his last granddaughter is born and by 1905 only 3 grandchildren and their mother r alive and have moved to ND. This last granddaughter tells her children something awful happened to these family members and vows to tell before she dies, but fails to do so. Still trying to figure out that one! Wondering where u found Amos Sr. death u know his birth date?
