We know that this is the same family as my mother's maiden name was Dann. Her father was Eddie Nelson Dann. A copy of his original Application for Social Security Number listed his father as Nelson Dann and mother as Mary Boudry. The 1910 Census of Yell Co., AR showed the brothers Eddie Nelson, Sam A. and Jim A. all living in the same area with their widowed mother Mary. Mary was listed as a widow at that time and Jim as single, living in the same household. Eddie's and Sam's households were enumerated immediately next to Jim's household. The Census indicated that Mary was the mother of 5 children, all of which were still alive in 1910.

The 1900 Soundex Index of Arkansas, Iowa, Oklahoma and Missouri did not list any of this Dann family (although there were several Dann families in Iowa and a Nelson Dann listed as a servant). The family probably moved to Arkansas sometime after 1900. The 1920 Soundex Index of Arkansas did not list this family either.

We will send you more details directly once we've put them together.

Reba and John Fritz
