Daniel D. Smith b. 1814, Tn., >Ms >Tx(~1837)>Ark. (1855-91). A family rumor has it that the middle initial, 'D', stood for 'Dansby'. His parents are unknown, though the father might have been named: Finis Benjamin or John or James; and his mother's name had the initials 'M. J.' This Smith family moved from Tn to Ms ~1830. Were there any Dansby's coming from Va., settling in Tn., and possibly mingling with Smiths?
