Who were the wife and surviving child of DeWitt Dansbee, 8th child of Daniel Dansby and Mary Charter? Born 2/10/1837 Maury Co., TN; died 7/23/1877 of consumption at home of brother Robert Charter Dansbee in at Williamsport, TN. After parents' deaths, he lived with his sister Sarah Louisa Spencer and her husband Egin Hart Spencer in Maury and Williamson Cos., TN. On 8/24/1861 he enlisted at Hallettsville, Lavaca Co, TX in Whitfield's Legion and served CSA with his brother-in-law John Wilkins Whitfield, his first cousin John Thomas Whitfield, his nephew-in-law Samuel Edward Blackburn, and other relatives and friends from TX and TN. He surrendered at Citronelle, AL on 5/4/1865 and was paroled at Jackson MS on 5/13/1865. I do not know where he lived in MS or if he had more than one child.
