Didn't have any luck in the 1880 census records but hope something here is of use to you. Best wishes on your search....Linda
I don't know how much of this is right but according to the information in the LDS Family Search submitted by Jackie Forester in LaRue, Tx., Christopher C. Dansby was b. 15 Mar 1877 d. Dec 1965 in Bellevue, King, Washington. Christopher's wife was Florence Vera Dickerson whom he married 24 Dec 1899 in Cherokee County, Tx.

Christopher's mother was Melvina E. Scroggins b. 13 Nov 1841 Georgia d. 1 Feb 1895 in Mixon, Cherokee Co., Tx.

Her father's name was John Scroggins. Melvina was buried in the Mixon Cemetery. Melvina's 1st marriage was to Stb Dansby. Her 2nd marriage was to John Dansby b. abt. 1839 in Barbour Co., Al. They married on 23 Dec 1860 in Barbour, Al. John's parents were John Darby and Sarah Sasser.

Here is what I was able to find in the census records:
In 1860 Faulks, Barbour Co., Al., there is a John Dansby 56 b. Ga. 3500/880 farmer and wife Sarah 36 b. Ga. Also in the household were John 23 b. Al., George 18, Betsy 22, Winzey 18, Catherine 17, Jane 16, Mahala E. 14, Isham B. 7 and Daniel 24

1870 Twp. 8 Range 24, Barbour Co., Al. -
Dwelling 1565/1675
Dansby John 62 farmer b. NC.
Sarah 55 b. NC
Daniel 27 b. Al.
Jane 23 b. Al.
Isham 13 b. Al.
Rountre Elizabeth 30 keeps house b. Al.,
Dansby Melvina 32 b. Al. lives with sister
Dansby Monroe 10 b. Al.
Dansby Mary age 4 b. Al.

Also if you don't already have this, Christopher's WWI Draft Registration 1917-1918 says he lived in Smithfield, Tarrant Co., Tx., he was b. 15 Mar 1877, his occupation was R.R. Trackman for J.R. Webb and his wife's name was Alma. His physical description was tall, slender, brown eyes and black hair. It was dated 12 Sep 1918.
