Doug -

I found a Mark Knowles who was a student of Louis Dapron. He wrote a book in 1998 called, The Tap Dance Dictionary. I emailed him today and have not heard back yet. My mother said she just remembers it was a variety show and she was in her late teens. That would be around the early 60's. She also said Louis would be her Great grandmothers brother. There should be a relation to Jesse James through Louis also! Louis' mother is suppose to be full blooded Cherokee and father French. Hope this is helpful, let me know. I'll let you know if I heard from Mark.

Lisa
