Dear Dr J S Dargan
Im so glad someone out there knows how the Dargan , as a last name emerged. I had no clue about it. Thanx.
My Grandfather used to tell me stories of partition and how he with his family including my father who was then one year old travelled all the way from pakistan to Dehradun. They stayed in the refugee camp and then finally settled down in doon.
He used to tell me stories of Dera Ismail khan, in NWFP ( North West frontier province), thats where they lived and also my father was born there.
He used to write in urdu and said we are pathans..but when i thought about that i used to wonder how can a Hindu be a pathan too. Neway thats all community driven talks. I dont really venture too much into it. But Dargan sure is a uncommon last name . In bombay , thats where i grew up, Dargan was so scarce. Infact no one was a Dargan except us.
Its nice to know , we share the last name. I love the feel it has..very bold and courageous. DARGAN. Sounds like someone "BRAVE"
