Eleanor, thanks for the message. St. George's church was the church of the Parish of St. George's. It is now in disuse. As the numbers of Church of Ireland parishioners dwindled, decisions were made to "merge" adjoining parishes, and I suspect this happened with St. George's. I know that another formerly important Dublin church, St. Mark's, was also "discontinued" some years ago. The parish records were sent to the Church of Ireland Library (I have seen both St. Mark's and St. George's registers there). It may be a few weeks before I can call to the Library, but I will ask about the possibility of a certificate. I doubt if they were issued back in the early 1800's, the entries themselves were quite scanty. I have yet to contact the nearby shop owners (they are not on my shopping list!) but will watch for a chance. Hope to get back to you as soon as possible. Jim.
