Dear Anita,

I found a Josiah DARLINGTON age 25 with wife Mariah age 20 and son Josiah age 1 living in Wheal Widden in the parish of Kea, Cornwall in 1841. Living next to them was the Richard and Elizabeth NEAL family. I think these may well be your ancestors. This 1841 census is available online via the Cornwall Online Census Project.

Richard and Elizabeth NEAL also had a son, James, who married Grace NORTHEY in 1856 in the parish of North Hill, Cornwall. James and Grace also went to Australia as did at least another NEAL brother who died on the voyage. Grace NORTHEY was a sister to my 3greatgrandmother. If you know what happened to this James and Grace NEAL family in Australia, I'd be greatly interested.

Best wishes,
Karen in Pennsylvania, USA
