Stephen Darlington was my father's oldest brother.The family moved to the central west coast of Florida sometime in the 1920's. My dad was born in Idaho, but the family moved to the Tarpon Springs area after a stay in the Georgetown, S.C. area. When I was growing up in Tampa in the 50's and 60's, all of my aunts and uncles except Steve lived in the same general area. Steve had moved to Crescent City, Florida, just below St. Augustine.
My uncle Joe lived near Elfers,Fla., as did my aunt Sophie(Deuel). The family had a ranch on the Anclote River above Tarpon Springs and my aunt Sophie had a place built a few miles upstream where she lived for most of the time while I was growing up. My dad's mother, Elizabeth, lived in Tarpon Springs then until her death in the late 60's at the age of 95. Uncle Wayne lived with her until then and then moved to New Port Richey,Fla. Aunt Polly lived in Tarpon Springs, and then moved to the New Port Richey area as well. My father, Benjamin Nicholson Darlington settled in Tampa.
