Hello Beatrice:

Well the internet is certainly quite amazing. I did not realize how many Darnbrough's live in Canada and USA. I live on the east coast, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Also have a brother living close by. My father arrived in Canada in 1951. His family came from Yorkshire area. Had relatives in Redcar,Jersey and Darlington areas.

Our Darnbrough records go back to a Christopher 1666 Ripon area and a Michael of Well Parish, 1685. Have no records of Ephriam Darnbrough direct decendants however can follow back to his parents: William b1782,married to Ellen Hullah 1816 in Ripon.William was the son of a William of Well b1724 married 1st to Ann Swale 1756,d1779,then married to Mary Frankland who is William's mother.William of Well had a sister Isabel b1712,d1715 a brother George b1715 and a 2nd sister Isabel b1719. Looks like George married an Ann Ingram in 1749. Their parents were Christopher d1762 and an Isabel. And finally Christopher was the son of Michael 1685 Well Parish and grandson of Christopher 1666 of Ripon area.

Ephriam had 4 brothers, William,Alfred b1822,Fredrick b1824 d1886 married Jane Jefferson, Sampson b1831 and 2 sisters, Ellen b1819 married to Issac Akers Sawley and Caroline b1828 d1905 married to Francis Swale.
Then our records split. I can follow my side from Sampson down and records on Ephriam's brother Fredrick's family including a Jane Elizabeth b1884,James Fredrick b1887,Peter b1920,James Inglis b1923, Peter Mosley,Phillip John b1955 and Victoria b1961.
Not sure if this helps or provides more confusion on the Darnbrough history.

Jim Darnbrough
