Darrochs in South America
People don't know that there is a branch of the Darroch family (probably from Argyllshire) that lives today in South America and they emigrated here at the beginning of the XVIIIth century. Lady Mary Campbell, daughter of the 9th Earl of Argyll, had a son with a man surnamed Darroch (unfortunately I don't know his name, I don't even know if he was her husband or lover). The thing is that their son, Joseph Archibald Darroch Campbell (I guess they married, as he used legally his parents surnames) have descendants in Chile and Peru, but they modified the surname to Daroch (probably because is easier to pronounce it in Spanish like that).
