Hello again Leslie; Here's the 'short-form' summary of the possibilities of the earliest Darwins in Virginia outlined in my earlier postings: THEORY 'A': The family looks like this: [1st Generation] William Darwin, Senior: birthplace and birthdate unknown, but prior to circa 1688. Death date and place unknown. Married to Jean Darwin: birthplace, birthdate, maiden name, place and date of death all unknown Child of above: [2nd Generation] William Darwin, Junior: born 1707 in Virginia, died 1786 in Louisa County, VA. Married to Jane {?Wilkerson), born 1715, place unknown, died circa 1790 in Lousia County, VA. Children of the above: [3rd Generation] Agnes - born 1735 Jane - born 1737 Keziah - born 1739/40 William III - born 1742 James - born 1744 Bartlett - born 1745/46 John - born 1755 Jesse - birthdate unknown THEORY 'B': The family looks like this: [1st Generation] William Darwin, Senior: born 1707, place unknown, Virginia, died 1786 in Louisa County, VA. Married to Jane {?Wilkerson), born 1715, place unknown, died circa 1790 in Lousia County, VA. Children of the above: [2nd Generation] Agnes - born 1735 Jane - born 1737 Keziah - born 1739/40 William, Junior - born 1742 James - born 1744 Bartlett - born 1745/46 John - born 1755 Jesse - birthdate unknown As I've said, I believe Theory 'B' fits the documents much better than 'A', but that is only my opinion. Would be delighted to hear evidence and/or other lines of reasoning from any quarter!
