Darwins in England

I note most responses to this list are US based. Has any one researched back to the UK. I am interested in the areas the Darwin families came from. My own is Yorshire but it would seem many come from the Peak district centred on Hope on the Derwent river. It seems to me that before 1600 most entries in the IGI are within a 50 mile radius of Hope meaning migration of the family had not travelled far. Even Erasmus Darwin's birthplace is within this radius.
It would be nice to be able to determine when and why the migration of families took place.
