Dear Darlene:

Do you know of any Darwins' in California, Illinois, or Arizona (I was born in Elgin, Ill. 4/9/66) and grew up in AZ)? The info I have is all here say. My grandmother told me, that, she was told by my grandfathers parents (who were living in San Francisco at the time of his death) said that he died of Pnemonia while hitch hiking from Illinois to California to be with them (ie. his parents). She also told me that they were hobos back in the 30's, during the great depression, hitching illegal rides on moving trains. It also says on my dad's, (Marvin Le Roy Darwin b. May 10th 1937), birth certificate that my grandfather (Robert S. Darwin at age 26 years worked as a pump operator at U.S. Dam #13 for the past 3 years, 1934 - 1937?)was born in Medford, OR.

All this hear say is making me a little dizzy, especially since the only one left is my father and he said he thought his father was born in California!!! It is too much for me. I just wan't to know what the real story is???
Thank you for any help you can give,

Bonnie
