Even if this isn't the line you are researching, will post in case of interest to others:

Working backwards:

1. Henry Lewis Darwin (b. 1886, d. 1945), married Georgia Streeter (no dates)
[according to my records, their children are Shirlireed, born 1921 and James L., born 1923]

       Children:       Orpha J. (1843)
                     Mary B. (1845)
                     Rebecca A. (1847)
                     Vesta Ann (1849)
                     Mahala Tennessee (1851)
                     James L. (1853)
                     Henry Clay (1855)
                     Alfred C. (1858)
                     Ada (1861)

4.       Parents of Thomas C. Darwin

       James Adams Darwin (b. 1796, d. 1872)
       married Bethiah White Clements (b. 1798, d. 1873)

                     John (1755)
                     Jesse (son, birthdate unknown)

I am descended from John Darwin (b. 1755) in generation 7 here; John served in the 3rd VA Regiment of the Continental Line under Washington from 1776-78, then migrated to York SC, where brother James was already living--both brothers served with local patriots during the Revolution.

I have a number of other postings on the earliest Darwins (William of Virginia) on the Darwin Forum of GenForum.

Hope this is of help to you. Good luck with your research
