I am not a researcher of this line. I have merely encountered this information and am posting for use of those who may be researching this family. The information comes from the book by Stella Pickett Hardy published around the turn of the century COLONIAL FAMILIES OF THE SOUTHERN STATES OF AMERICA pages 419 and 420. This book is available via library loan through any library in the U.S. Though some alleged errors have been found in the work, a comparison of the original book with new research has documented very few differences in the final conclusions. However, it is the user's responsibility to determine what value to give to those conclusions and to compare their own lineage to available public records for supporting forensics: Richard Orrick Pickett b.22 Aug 1814 Faquier Co, VA , commissioned 10th Ala. Cavalry in Nov 1863 (NOte: other civil war service is listed) captured at Corinth and exchanged at Vicksburg in 1863, was a judge in Lawrence Co. Ala in 1846, in the legislature of that county in 1853-55-57-61,removed to Lauderdale Co Ala in 1867 , in that legislature for 1884-86-87. No death given. He married in 1844 to Fanny L. Boggs of PA, she was a cousin of Judith Bray (Dent) Grant, wife of Gen. U.S. Grant. Issue: Sarah Chilton Pickett who married Samuel Darwin and had issue "all of which are dead except: 1. Ella , m.
