Hi Virginia,

I know what you mean about trying to find anything on the Dasher family. My ex husband's surname is Dasher and I've been trying to fill in some blanks for my older children's tree. I have found in Butler, Darke Co, OH that the Harter family and the Michael family are connected with Silas Harter, where you found Sarah Dasher, marrying Lydia Michael in 1845 in Butler, Darke Co. I think, but can't prove, that Lydia Michael is probably a daughter of John Michael where you found James Dasher age 5. I found a James Dasher on the 1840 census in Butler, Darke Co., OH age 20 to 30. I can't, however, find a marriage record for this James Dasher. I have speculated that this James Dasher might have also married a John Michael daughter and he and his wife died before 1850 and the relatives got the youngest children as I find no other Dashers in Butler on the 1850 census. Nothing I can prove though. If we could find a marriage record & a grave for James, Sr. and his wife in Butler, I think we could be a little more positive about this. My ex husband's Dasher line is from James, born 1844, and Martha Tedford's son Frank. One other thing, I just received a copy of James and Martha's marriage record and they were married in Howard Co, KS April 16, 1872 not 1870. Just thought you would like to know.

If you have any newer information on the parents of James and Sarah, I would really appreciate it very much if you would share. I just started this for my childdren a few months ago and feel like I'm playing catch up.

Regards, Georgene Blair
