My grandfather, Louis Dauber, also came to this country from Austria. Not sure of year. My father, Philip, was born to Louis and Dora (nee Luck) Dauber in Chicago in 1911. Grandpa Dauber had three brothers that I know of: Edward. Morris, both of whom lived in Chicago. The other brother, Benjamin, lived in Israel. My daughter, who is a musician, traveled to Austria about 10 years ago and encountered some Daubers who owned a jewelry store. Oh yes, my family is of the Jewish persuasion. Is yours?
