I was most interested to see your message. My maiden name is Dawber. My family live in Yorkshire, UK. The research I have been doing has only got me back to the late 18th C to Lincolnshire. The name was changed from Dauber sometime in the 19th C due to my illiterate forebears!I guessed from the name that it was probably German. This leads me to the point of my message. I wondered if you have done any more digging into the Alsace-Lorraine connection. I would love to know where my ancestors originated from.
